If you are traveling to the Jaco area, a nice place to stay is the Aparthotel Vista Pacifico. It is a bed and breakfast located on the crest of a hill overlooking the beach and adjacent valley, with panoramic views all around. The biggest advantage of staying here, however, is that it is very quiet, away from the beach town of Jaco, which can be noisy. The main disadvantage is that it is a long walk into town, so you either need a rental car or it is possible to get around by taxi. A taxi ride to the beach will cost about $3.00 USD, and one can simply call a taxi from the hotel and it will be there in a few minutes. Taxis are generally plentiful in the Jaco area. (There are even unofficial, or “pirate” cabs, that tend to be cheaper than the official metered taxis.) Make your reservations early, as this place tends to fill up.
